Why You Should Attend Public Meetings: Lake Wales City Commission and Board Meeting Schedule for September

There are a number of agenda items, projects, events, and other matters in local government that are of interest and concern to the citizens of the City of Lake Wales. The very best way to be informed is within the reach of every citizen.

Are you a concerned Lake Wales resident who’s curious about what’s going on with your city government? Would you like to know what’s going on and be able to ask valid questions?

In Lake Wales, every aspect of the local government, from the city commission to the charter school board to even the local airport board, is open to the public with its public meetings.

The Lake Wales City Commission meets at 6 PM on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of each month at the Municipal Administration Building, located at 201 W. Central Avenue Lake Wales, FL 33853.

The city commission meetings, as with most city government meetings are open to the public. Any member of the public is invited to speak on city matters during the public comments portion of the meeting. Those wishing to speak must fill out a speaker card before the start of the meeting.

By attending a public meeting in person, one is able to hear, firsthand, about the agenda items, and can witness the resulting discussion. These meetings allow the public to become more educated on the matters being discussed, allowing for the opportunity for better understanding.
