Lake Wales, Florida – The Polk County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating a serious bodily injury crash which occurred Sunday, July 3, 2022. The crash occurred around 2:45 pm on S.R. 17 (Scenic Hwy) just South of Nest Egg Rd.
According to Brian Bruchey, public information officer, with the Polk County Sheriff’s Office two older teens were injured in the crash. An 18 yr old male was transported via helicopter for medical attention and a 19 yr old males was transported via ambulance.
According to witnesses at the scene one young man was non-responsive. Polk County Sheriff’s Office hasn’t released names and couldn’t give an update on how the two young men were doing.
It appeared that the crash involved at least one 4 wheeler and possibly a dirt bike motorcycle as the other vehicle. PCSO advised that neither of the young men was wearing a helmet.
Roadway reopened at 4:07 p.m.
