At 7:35 a.m. on Friday, May 16, 2025, a traffic collision was reported near 6340 Timberlane Rd. in Lake Wales, south of Canal Rd.
A representative from Polk County Sheriff’s Office has confirmed that two vehicles were involved, but no further details are yet available.
Polk County Fire Rescue Public Information Officer, Nathaniel Gale, has confirmed that one person had to be extricated from a vehicle, was classified as a trauma alert, and a helicopter was used to transport the patient to a hospital.
As of 8:50 a.m.. Timberlane Rd. was closed at Tindel Camp Rd. with a detour in place. Please avoid the area as first responders continue to work at the scene.
