The much maligned downtown of Lake Wales, who has seen several businesses leave in the last year, May be getting a breath of fresh air.
The Thirsty Dragon is a new pub under construction in downtown Lake Wales, located at 126 N First Street. The pub aims to offer a unique social experience with a carefully crafted bar food menu, a little something for everyone, along with a selection of beer and wine.
According to the businesses website “ Our team is happy to add an exciting new social and entertainment venue to the Lake Wales scene!
The Thirsty Dragon brings a renewed energy to the ongoing renovation and reinvention of Downtown Lake Wales by presenting a completely new and
different social experience that puts people first.”
The pub will reportedly have weekly events including wine tastings, trivia, Living Out Loud readings, and themed karaoke plus special events including book clubs, author signings and presentations.
According to Sunbiz the venture appears to be a collaboration between Tammy James & Robert Conners.
The pub’s website says they will offer a wide variety of domestic craft and imported beers on tap to please every taste, as well as a selection of individual canned beers.
For the wine lovers they reportedly will offer a wide variety of domestic and imported wines to suit every taste.
Wines, reportedly, will be available by the bottle, half, or full case for your home entertainment needs. They will be offering wine flights as well as weekly tastings to introduce new varietals (single type of grape wines such as a Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, etc.
The opening date has not been announced yet as the project is still in development, but according to an article in What Now Tampa Connors said “it’s still too early to reveal more about the Thirsty Dragon, which is currently under construction.”
