Polk County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched approximately 8:12 this evening to a reported single vehicle crash at US Hwy 27 and Lily Creek Rd. In Frostproof. This crash resulted in a possible, but unconfirmed rollover of the vehicle. A trauma alert was issued and one patient is in the process of being transported by helicopter.
The cause of the crash is unknown at this time.
At this time, Hwy. 27 will likely be shut down for a short time in order for the helicopter to land. The roadway should be open shortly there after.
