A near drowning of a four-year-old child at a residence in Winter Haven triggered a call to 911. Due to rapid response by first responders, the child has a good prognosis.
Meghan Petty, Polk County Sheriff’s Office PIO, says that 911 received a call regarding a child drowning.
The Winter Haven Fire Department was dispatched at 3:25 this afternoon to a residence on Winterset Gardens Rd. Law-enforcement and a helicopter also responded. The child was breathing and was airlifted to the hospital as a precaution.
Because of the nature of the call, law-enforcement will conduct an investigation of the situation.
