Youth Leadership Lake Wales is a program designed to identify and bring together a diverse group of High School Juniors from the public and private schools, including home schools, of the greater Lake Wales area who have demonstrated leadership potential in formal and informal situations. Youth Leadership Lake Wales prepares them to become effective leaders committed to active community involvement.
During this exciting junior-year program, students attend an Opening Retreat, Program Session Days (one per month, each with a different industry/community focus) and a Graduation Ceremony.
Youth Leadership Lake Wales seeks to develop visionary approaches and collaborative behavior in graduates who occupy or will assume leadership roles in organizations within their school and their community. The seven-month program immerses participants in an inspiring and enlightening curriculum that increases community awareness and examines critical issues that impact Lake Wales, Polk County, and the State of Florida. Youth Leadership Lake Wales exposes participants to many community-minded perspectives and resources through an open forum. Deadline Tuesday, September 2, 2025
