Two separate traffic accidents have been reported this evening, Thursday, May 8, 2025, on Hwy. 60:
The first was reported at 8:35 pm near the intersection of Hwy. 60 W & West Lake Wales Rd. N in Lake Wales. Polk County Fire Rescue Public Information Officer, Nathaniel Gale, has confirmed that two people were transported to the hospital from the scene of this accident. Neither were trauma alerts.
The second was reported near Hwy. 60 E and 80 Foot Rd, Bartow. No further details have been made available, but Gale also confirmed that no one was transported from the scene.
