CITY OF LAKE WALES: Eleven segments of roadways will be milled and reshaped before applying a new two-inch lift of asphalt. Construction begins on select roadways on January 6th.

E. Johnson Ave.-RR tracks – S. Lakeshore Blvd.
E. Tillman Ave.-300 Tillman Ave- S. lakeshore Blvd.
S. 4th St.-E. Polk Ave.-Central Ave.
5th St.- E. Polk Ave.- E. Johnson Ave.
Center St.-Hwy 60-Carlton Ave.
E. Polk Ave.- Scenic Hwy-S. Lakeshore Blvd.
W. Polk Ave.- Hwy 60-1St. St.
Bryn Mawr Ave.-Linden Ln.-11th St.
Cypress Garden Ln.-E. Park Ave.-E. Crystal Ave. (this will also include the West parking lot)
Public Works Operations Manager Nancy Hernandez said, “Our City’s program is a six-year plan that includes an inventory of roadways with condition ratings and prescribed treatment methods.”
The program was funded for the first time in 2021.
“We appreciate everyone’s patience as we catch up on a backlog of roadways,” City Manager James Slaton said.
This next phase of construction will account for the resurfacing of 23 segments of roadways. Segments of 12 roadways were recently resurfaced in 2023 with either a cape seal or a double-micro slurry of liquid asphalt.
