Virginia Lee Welcher, 83

Virginia Lee Welcher of Lake Wales passed away on Wednesday, October 23, 2024 at her daughters residence in Lake Wales.

She was born May 7, 1941 in Geneva, Alabama to the late Jimmie and Mary Reeves; she moved to Lake Wales from Midland City, Alabama in 1954. Virginia was a retired quality assurance lab technician for Florida’s Natural and she previously attended Grace Life Family Church. She enjoyed reading, doing puzzles, and coloring. She always loved cooking for her family, especially when it included shelling peas.

Virginia was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Welcher in 2022; and sister, Martha Barber. She is survived by her daughters, Mary Freeman Scalise (Richard) of Deltona and Cindy Ann Hill (Bobby) of Lake Wales; grandchildren, Alex Scalise, Britni Long (Mike), Austin Scalise, and Autumn Appiah (Foster); and six great-grandchildren.

A visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until the funeral service at 6:00 p.m., Monday, October 28, 2024 at Marion Nelson Funeral Home in Lake Wales with Pastor Darrell Alexander officiating.
