On Thursday, July 18, 2024, a new plaque and statue were unveiled at the Polk County Sheriff’s Office Fallen Heroes Memorial in front of the PCSO Sheriff’s Operation Center during a special ceremony.
The new additions were in honor of Deputy Sheriff Blane Lane, who was killed in the line of duty on October 4, 2022 in Polk City.
Lane’s statue is the fifth to be placed at the site, and his name is the sixteenth to be etched onto the memorial.
