The Lake Wales Police Department is investigating a two vehicle crash on SR 60 near 1st St. The initial call came in at 11:56am.
According to Troy Schulze, Deputy Chief with Lake Wales Police Department, both vehicles were traveling eastbound on SR 60. One vehicle sideswiped another then left the roadway coming to rest on its side. As a precaution, one person involved is being airlifted to a nearby hospital. The life flight helicopter will be landing near Washington Ave, just north of Florida’s Natural.
Although traffic flow has been effected by the crash, traffic has continued to flow in all directions.
