Vehicle Fire Dictates Caution on 27 Northbound

At 4:41 PM, a call was received by Polk County Fire Rescue with regard to a vehicle fire at US Hwy. 27 N and S. Miami St. In Lake Wales. A car suffered a mechanical failure, resulting ultimately in a fire in the engine compartment. First responders have extinguished the fire, but drivers should use caution in this area until a tow truck can move the disabled vehicle. No injuries were reported.
