At 6:51 p.m. tonight, a call was posted to Polk County Fire Rescue regarding a traffic collision at US Hwy. 27 and Washington Avenue in Lake Wales.
The vehicle crash included two vehicles. One vehicle was southbound on Hwy. 27 and the other was eastbound on Washington Ave. A violation of right of way is what caused the crash.
One driver was not injured and the other was airlifted to a local hospital as a precaution. The vehicles are being removed from the roadway by tow trucks.
The roadway should be cleared shortly.
