YMCA Of Central Florida Closing Lake Wales Branch

The YMCA Of Central Florida has decided to close it’s Lake Wales Branch. In a letter circulating around Facebook Elaine Thompson, PhD Chief Executive Officer of the local YMCA’s states the following “The YMCA of West Central Florida has decided to close the Lake Wales Branch and end the relationship with the City of Lake Wales. Notice was given to the City of Lake Wales on April 25th that provided an October 31, 2023, termination date.”

The Daily Ridge News reached out to the city of Lake Wales and they confirmed the news.

According to Stephanie-Grace Lutton, City of Lake Wales Parks & Recreation Manager, and Eric Marshall, City of Lake Wales Communications & Engagement Director, the “city is exploring other options“.
