Lake Wales, Florida- The Lake Wales Police Department is currently investigating a shooting at the Lake Wales Garden Apartments off Domaris Avenue. The shooting took place around 10pm at night on Labor Day. The Lake Wales Police Department has not released very little information regarding the shooting. “It is an active investigation and we do not have any information to release at this time. There were multiple rounds fired but no one was hit.” advised Deputy Chief David Black.
According to photos and witnesses it appears between 13-15 casings were located at the scene. Bullets struck vehicles, doors and pierced walls going into apartments.
One resident advised they were just getting to bed for the evening when shots rang out and debris rained down from a bullet that came through their bedroom wall.
According to Deputy Chief, David Black, the shooting doesn’t appear to be related to a previous shooting last week that took the life of one person (Seminole Ave Shooting). That shooting investigation is ongoing and the department is working with the state attorneys office.
